About Dr. Sarah E. Haller, DPM, FACFAS
About Dr. Sarah E. Haller, DPM, FACFAS
After earning her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree, Dr. Haller matched at Hoboken University Medical Center, where she completed her residency as chief resident. She then secured a fellowship at the Weil Foot and Ankle Institute in Chicago — one of the largest podiatric surgical centers in the country — for specialized surgical training.
That fellowship training focused on complex foot and ankle reconstruction, revision surgery, and arthroscopic procedures. Essex Union Podiatry patients benefit from a level of surgical experience that extends beyond standard residency preparation.
Dr. Haller was recruited for the hit TLC show "My Feet Are Killing Me," where she focused on improving quality of life for patients across the country who had run out of options.
Dr. Haller holds board certifications from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM), with surgical expertise spanning both forefoot and hindfoot reconstruction.
She is active in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and maintains membership in the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), engaging in multiple continuing education courses each year.
Outside the office, you will find Dr. Haller in a pilates studio, at the library, or traveling with her husband to hike. Follow her on Instagram to stay up to date.
Clinical Specialties
Complex Foot and Ankle Reconstruction
Structural deformities, failed prior surgeries, and multi-plane corrections require a surgeon trained beyond routine procedures. Dr. Haller's fellowship at Weil Foot and Ankle Institute prepared her for the cases that other practices refer out.
Revision Surgery
When a previous foot or ankle surgery did not produce the expected result, Dr. Haller evaluates imaging, identifies the failure point, and designs a revision plan. Foot and ankle surgery at Essex Union Podiatry includes first-time and revision cases.
Arthroscopic Procedures
Minimally invasive arthroscopy allows Dr. Haller to evaluate and treat joint conditions through small incisions. Shorter recovery, less tissue disruption, and direct visualization of the joint interior make arthroscopy the preferred approach for eligible patients.
